Design Space Exploration Based Methodology for Residue Number System Digital Filters Implementation

In the past decades, Residue Number System (RNS) has been adopted in DSP as an alternative to traditional two’s complement number system (TCS) because of savings area and power dissipation. this work, we first perform a comprehensive Design Space Exploration (DSE) analyze impact state-of-the-art design tools libraries on implementation basic operations (i.e., addition multiplication) used DSP. From DSE, extract characteristics stand-alone RNS TCS operators different corners, independently specific context application. Then, propose methodology, based fully automate digital filters, hiding detail designer, providing optimal efficient implementations. Our methodology can enable efficiency computation (speed power) emerging applications, such Machine Learning Internet-of-Things.
